Sonderburg (Sønderborg in Danish) is a cosy little harbour town on the island of Als, about 40 kilometres north-east of Flensburg and 30 kilometres south-east of Apenrade. The Alsion is a large new building for the city's new university, which is used as a large lecture theatre and public concert hall.
