Rymden is the Swedish word for space, and this trio creates space for the term "supergroup". The Norwegian pianist Bugge Wesseltoft started his project "New Conception Of Jazz" more than 20 years ago, a unique style of music in which he mixed acoustic and electronic sounds. Bassist Dan Berglund and drummer Magnus Öström were partners of the Swedish pianist Esbjörn Svensson, with e.s.t. they traveled around the world. After the deadly diving accident of the charismatic musician both started their own bands, Berglund's "Tonbruket" and Öström's trio are also very successful. Together with Bugge Wesseltoft they play the piano trio again for the first time. For the Norwegian pianist it is even a premiere, Wesseltoft avoided the acoustic line-up out of respect for the tradition of the piano trio. But this piano trio looks into the future, jazz, classical music and prog rock can be found in the music of the three Scandinavians. But the three don't make it completely acoustically - they use electronics sparingly and subtly to make the rooms even bigger.
"Bugge with Dan and Magnus is Rymden. The stars are the limit!" [Nils]
