The Katthult farm, farmhand Alfred, sister Little Ida and old Krösamaja have been familiar to children since the publication of Astrid Lindgren's books and the film adaptations of the 1970s. Incidentally, the father's shouted "Michel!" does not exist in the original Swedish version because Michel is called Emil there. As people in Germany were worried that there might be confusion with Kästner's "Emil and the Detectives", the rascal was renamed without further ado. For this year's family concert, trombonist and artistic director Nils Landgren has taken on the Swedish classic and will bring his adaptation to the stage with actor Gustav Peter Wöhler and the JazzBaltica Ensemble to enchant young (and old) jazz fans.
