JazzCafé: Sophia Oster Quartet

"Hamburg has a lot to offer when it comes to good music and because I love this city and I'm there regularly, I often meet people who are very musical. That's the way it is with Sophia Oster, she has something very own, personal, which shapes her piano playing and her singing. Somehow Sophia's music reminds me of Scandinavia and the music there. Thoughtful, a bit melancholic, but always with direction and a sense of humour. She has an excellent quartet together with clarinettist Samantha Wright, bassist Tilman Oberbeck and drummer Jan-Philipp Meyer. It is a great pleasure to have everyone at JazzBaltica.
