Anyone who has experienced Bobby Sparks II with the American superband Snarky Puppy will remember the keyboardist. Often wearing a warm anorak and hood, the American stands behind a castle of vintage keyboards and synthesisers. He can play his clavinet with a long metal lever, a whammy bar, like a wildly distorted electric guitar. Sparks earned his musical spurs with Roy Hargrove, D'Angelo, Tower of Power and Marcus Miller, which sets the tone for his band: Jazz, funk and fusion with a pinch of soul, gospel and hip-hop. His first album under his own name, Schizophrenia - The Yang Project, was released in 2019. Now he can be experienced for the first time with his own band at JazzBaltica.
