Trumpeter Angela Avetisyan is known to many JazzBaltica visitors as an outstanding soloist with the Jazzrausch Big Band. She now comes to JazzBaltica with other, more transparent, lyrical sounds and her own quartet. Her highly expressive ‘voice’ on her instrument is striking. Sometimes she breathes her subtle melodies delicately, then again strongly and energetically rousing. Avetisyan skilfully weaves echoes of the folklore of Near and Far Eastern countries and peoples into her compositions.
